Fish and seafood

Fresh fish and seafood in Barcelona, from Vigo market

Beyond the cod: chipirones in their ink, grilled squid and market fish in large pieces, filleted beside the table.

The market fish

Grilled market fish, filleted at the table

Market fish is served in large pieces and filleted beside the table, priced by the market. Igueldo brings it up from Vigo market, the same source as the rest of the northern produce on the menu.

From the sea

Chipirones in their ink and grilled squid

The chipirones in their ink also come as a half portion, for anyone who wants a taste without ordering a full plate. The grilled squid comes with egg yolk and Iberian pancetta, another way to eat seafood without going straight for a large fish. What there is depends on the market; the floor staff will tell you what has come in that day.
